Traffic and parking rules in the city
On some particular days it may not be allowed to drive into the centre. In such cases you have to leave your car in the car-park of Piazza Matteotti and walk to Palazzo Minciotti. It is only a five minutes’ walk. These are the days when it is not allowed to enter the city centre:
In the afternoon of Good Friday and all the days of the Kalendimaggio festival. Also on 15th August, 25th April, 1st May, 4th October (Feast of St Francis) the traffic is very intense and there is a risk of not finding a parking lot. In such eventuality we advise that you drive on to the Rocca Maggiore where it is almost always possible to park on a first come, first served basis.

By train
If you reach Assisi by train, outside the station there is the terminal of the bus service which links the station to the city centre. The service ends in Piazza Matteotti, very close to Piazza San Rufino where Palazzo Minciotti is situated. (See instructions above on how to arrive from Piazza Matteotti). There is also a very efficient taxi service from the station which costs about 13 Euros plus 50 cents for each piece of luggage.

If you fly into Perugia airport, the only way to reach Assisi is by taxi which costs about 35 Euros. Otherwise you could rent a car. There are flights to Milano-Malpensa, an international airport with connections to anywhere in the world.
